Merry Christmas!

Christmas was a lot of fun this year. Christmas morning we Skyped with Grandma & Grandpa Webster, Cindy & Steve, and Curtis. After that, Kirk's family (Grandma & Grandpa Asay, Jarid & Shawn and Taylor and Luke, Melanie, and Candice) came over to watch the kids open gifts and to have breakfast with us. It was a great morning.

Tyce asked Santa for swords and Lauren asked for princesses. We reminded Tyce that since he has five swords, that Santa might not bring him any.

Tyce was thrilled with the Ninjago p.j.s (I know the price tag is still on. I didn't know if they would fit. They looked so big, but they fit him perfectly!)

Lauren loved her p.j.s too!

Kirk and I were up awhile before the kids were. I took a picture of what Santa brought them, before they came downstairs.

Tyce gave Kirk a R/C Rock Crawler. Tyce was SO excited to give it to him. He thought that Kirk would love it.

We were so excited for Tyce to get one too! Let's just say he was a little surprised!

Lauren had a princess themed Christmas. Such a cutie.

Happy Birthday Tyce

A couple of weeks ago, Tyce turned 6! It's hard to believe, I know! With Thanksgiving falling the day after, he was lucky in that he didn't have to go school on his birthday. He was quite excited about that! We had a little birthday party with some of his friends. We were blessed that it was nice enough for them to run around in the backyard instead of the living room :)

Arrrg! Scary group of Pirates!

Happy Halloween 2012

The Monday before Halloween, Kirk and I helped Tyce & Lauren carve their pumpkins. They were ones we grew in our garden this summer. (The first one turned orange in July!)

The kids were super excited to dress up for Halloween. Tyce was Darth Maul (from Star Wars) and Lauren was Cinderella. They had a great time at the Ward Halloween Party and then trick-or-treating some more in our neighborhood.

Then we went over to Grandma & Grandpa Asay's house to trick-or-treat. The treat for Kirk and I was that the kids then spent the night and Grandma & Grandpa's and we flew out early the next morning to Las Vegas! (Sema show, Cirque du Soleil, and sleeping in...a wonderful getaway)!

A cool Bronco. People were standing in line to get Foose's autograph.
I thought of Lauren when we saw this.

We watched the parade of cars for almost and hour and then there were tons of cars/trucks/etc still to go.

I think I should've driven this one :)

I think this was one of Kirk's favorites!

Thank you Grandma & Grandpa Asay for watching the kids. Thank you to my Aunt Lyn and Uncle Keith for sharing their home with us.

Happy Birthday Lauren (and Daddy and Grandma A. and Great-Grandpa S.)

Lauren is so confused at how old she is now! She had a fun birthday. Thursday night we went to Tucanos with Melanie and Grandma & Grandpa Asay. The food was amazing and the service was great. Auntie Mel gave Lauren some really nice snow boots for her birthday. She took off her crocks and wore her new snow boots for the remainder of the evening at the restaurant.

Kirk took Friday off. Who wants to go to work on their birthday? We all went swimming at the Legacy Center. Tyce was disappointed that the big green water-slide wasn't going, but he and Lauren did have a good time. We came home in time to get everyone changed, lunch, and then Tyce went to school. I needed to go and run some errands. Kirk was staying home. I asked Lauren if she wanted to go with me or stay with Daddy. She wanted to run errands with Mom. We headed out and before we got to Lowes, about 2 1/2 miles away, I looked back and she was out! So, I turned around, took her home, put her in bed, and ran errands alone :). She needed that nap.

That evening we had cupcakes for Lauren's birthday and yellow cake with chocolate malt frosting for Kirk and Grandma's birthday. Happy Birthday!!

Soccer Boy

This year, we signed Tyce up for Kindergarten Soccer. One of his best friends, Grace, was on the team as well. He had a good time. Here are a few pictures of his last game.

Guess which one is Tyce!

Ready to kick it in!
While Tyce was playing soccer, Lauren was being a twerp. She drank Tyce's Gatorade and stole Daddy's hat.

Great team. Tyce and Grace had fun playing on the same team.

Way to Go!

Tyce Starts Kindergarten!

Wow! I have a kid in Kindergarten. It feels like we've entered a whole new way of life. I feel like I'm just treading water trying to figure out routines and schedule and just getting out of summer mode.

Tyce is excited about Kindergarten. He is going in the afternoon. The school has 2 Kindergarten teachers each teaching a morning and afternoon session. We looked at the list and didn't recognize anyone in his class (surprising since there are about 11 kids from our ward in Kindergarten this year). Later we found out that one boy we know is in his class. This didn't seem to bother Tyce.

Grace and he both get on the bus for the afternoon class and they were anxious to go. Luckily no tears. -from neither he nor I!

Onto the Bus!

Smiling when he's done his first day of school. phew.
Here's comes a scary trio! Tyce B., Trey B. and Mitchell G.
