Christmas 2010

This year we went to Canada and spent Christmas with my side of the family. We left on December 23rd hoping that if we had everything ready and just pulled the kids from their beds into the van that they would continue to sleep. No such luck. They were awake and giggling and content. Yeah!! Lauren did fall asleep for a little while after a couple of hours. This was the first time we had attempted to make the trip in one day, since Lauren was born. Tyce has always been a trooper with road trips. Lauren is a little more ancy and prefers to be moving. We were shocked and amazed that she only got upset between Lima and Dillon. It was lunch time and we hadn't stopped for about 4 hours. Luckily for us, after a break in Helena, both kids fell asleep before we even got back on the freeway. Amazingly after 13 1/2 hours we pulled up to G & G Webster's house. Such troopers. (side note: I would never discourage anyone from buying a vehicle with built in DVD player.)

Christmas Eve the kids opened p.j.'s from G & G Webster. G & G Asay also gave the kids p.j.'s this year.

Christmas morning I had to wake Tyce up. He is not a morning person. Once he got up the stairs and saw that Santa had left he and Lauren each a Pillow Pet. He was excited. This year he asked for a frog Pillow Pet and a Barney. Santa gave Tyce a Barney dvd in his stocking (which has hasn't looked at once.) Lauren was given a play kitchen, which we didn't haul up to Canada. Tyce got a Car garage thing and a Thomas train set.

After opening presents we packed up the vehicles and hit the road again. My parents have a time share in Fairmont, B.C. They had enough time saved up that we were able to go there and have our own condo. Cindy and Steve met us there that afternoon. It was very nice to have our own place to sleep. The condo we were in had two bedrooms. The kids slept in one and we had the other. Thanks Mom & Dad.

Just outside our condo was a little hill. Tyce has never been sledding. He absolutely loved it!

Grandpa and Uncle Curtis also brought some snowmobiles. We went up to a big lake about a half hour away from Fairmont and rode around for a bit.

There was a swimming pool at the rec center and a big outside swimming pool. Who would of thought of going to Canada and swimming outside in December! CRAZY! It was a lot of fun.

Also at the rec center, they have some games/activities planned. On activity we went to was for kids to dance. Tyce loved it. So did Lauren - at one point she got off my lap and went and sat on the instructor's lap. Such a shy child.

We also enjoyed playing many games. In Curtis' condo we set up a Wii. Our family got WipeOut for Christmas. That was fun to watch people play. Tyce was in heaven having so many people willing to play the Wii with him.

That next Friday we went back to my parents house. Kirk drove back, by himself, on Saturday. The kids and I stayed another week, and came back with Grandma (great kids traveling for 14 hours), who then stayed at our house for a few days!
